On Monday March 19th New Myrnam School students and staff welcomed three new student teachers to our team from the University of Alberta. We are excited to have Ms. Kelly Sam, Ms. Michaela Ketsa and Ms. Carla Cusack in our school for the next five weeks as they complete their practicums as part of their journey to become certified teachers. We look forward to learning from and with you over the next five weeks!
"First Annual" Junior Mixed Basketball Tournament Congratulations to our very own Junior Mixed Basketball Team as they were named Champions of our first annual "The Basketball Tournament" here at home! Four teams (H.A. Kostash - Smoky Lake; Glendon I; Glendon II; and New Myrnam) went head to head in well played round-robin games full of enthusiasm, endurance and stamina. Calling ALL Athletes! Just in time for the Jr/Sr Track & Field season, Coach Riley along with Miss Krywiak, are encouraging athletes to take part in Pre-Season Conditioning/Training sessions. These sessions are geared toward strengthening and toning muscles, tendons and ligaments to reduce the possibility of injuries during training and competition. We want all of our competitors in top shape so they can perform to the best of their abilities at every level of competition.
Junior High Junior Boys: Jakie Klassen (lead), Noah Jacula (second), Aidan Clyke (third) and Wyatt Jacula (skip) During the SPAA competition on February 23-24, 2018 in St. Paul, the boys competed against Two Hills School and Racette Junior High School. They defeated Two Hills, then played off against Racette in the B Final and lost.
