Renewable Energy Program Coordinator, Located at New Myrnam School
St. Paul Education Regional Division No. 1 is seeking a Program Coordinator for New Myrnam School. The Program Coordinator is a dynamic, self-driven and resourceful individual whose role is to enhance the programming opportunities available through New Myrnam School and the Village of Myrnam through the new CTEC (Career Technology Education Centre) facility..
The successful candidate for this temporary, part time, 2-year term-definite position will develop partnerships with local institutions and community members to develop programming and workshops in energy efficiency and renewable energy. Additional responsibilities include: establishing partnerships with post-secondary programs, providing leadership in sourcing and securing additional resources for future projects; creative marketing of programs; and fostering community relationships to connect students and community members to community resources.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Within a school-based and community setting, the Program Coordinator will work to develop and implement programs in renewable energy and energy efficiency, such as wind, solar, biofuel, solar thermal heating, etc. This position reports to the Village of Myrnam CAO and the School Administration.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish relationships with post-secondary institutions
Identify potential revenue and resource sources through submitting grant applications
Work collaboratively with the Village administration and school staff to identify the needs of the community regarding adult and public education
Meet regularly for consultations with stakeholders
Assist students with course materials and resources, supported by the course instructor
Establish and maintain linkages with the community partners
Market and network to communicate opportunities to the public.
Coordinate and/or facilitate courses and workshops as needed.
Coordinate and/or facilitate training sessions for school staff related to CTS courses, energy efficiency, and alternative energy
Manage and maintain financial records pertaining to the project
Requirements: Relevant experience in community or educational settings would be considered an asset, a minimum of 6 months related experience; and excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills. Applicant must be self-driven and accountable to deadlines. This position is term-definite to June 30, 2021.
